Faculty: Gregory Ara Dumanian, MD
Doctor Gregory Ara Dumanian is a Chief of Plastic Surgery at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, where he performs predominantly peripheral nerve surgery and abdominal wall reconstruction.
He created "Targeted Muscle Reinnervation" for the control of bionic arms in 2001, and this procedure is now performed worldwide for the treatment of amputee pain and phantoms.
He worked with Doctor Garen Koloyan at the Wigmore Clinic in Yerevan for the "first-in-human" trial of a new generation of surgical sutures called "mesh suture."
